Faith and Hope Through Leadership is the theme of a special address to be delivered by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves Saturday afternoon at the Hope Concert at the Victoria Park.

Representatives from Christian organizations, religious groupings and churches across the country are coming together for the national charity concert in aid of disaster relief for victims of the recent devastating floods.

The event which is dubbed: Hope Concert – An Evening of Prayer and Praise will held under the theme: Our Faith will see us Through”

One of the Organizers Fidel Taylor says there will be intercessory prayers for the nation by leaders of various Christian organizations.

The concert is being organized by the umbrella grouping: Hope for the Nation Committee and will feature six of the nation’s leading worship teams: Angelos, Kingstown Baptist Church Worship Team, Harvest Bible Chapel Worship Team, Angelicas, Called Out, Vessels of Honour and Fidel Taylor.

The event is scheduled to begin at five this afternoon.

1. Rev. Colin Smith, President SVG Evangelical Association –“The Nation”

2. Rev. Adrian Odle, President SVG Christian Council – “Leadership in the Country”

3. Rev. Dr. Melch Pope, Faith Temple – “The Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition”

4. Rev. Sonny Williams, District Presiding Bishop PAWI – “Unity”

5. Sis. Lucintha George, Triumph Covenant Ministry – “Hope”

6. Rev. Dermott Baptiste, SVG Adventist Association – “People who suffered Losses”

7. Bishop Henry Davy, Church of God of Prophecy – “Prayers of Thanksgiving”

Hon. Daniel Cummings representing the Leader of the Opposition will speak on “Hope and Unity” while the Hon. Maxwell Charles Minister of Ecclesiastical Affairs will also be present and deliver an addresses. During the program there will be the laying of hands and special prayers said for the Prime Minister and the Opposition.

The public is being invited to attend in large numbers and donate food and money in special receptacles which will be placed around the park. These will be supervised and handed over to various charitable organizations for distribution.

The Hope Concert is being organized to show God’s love in tangible ways to the nation in this our time of crisis.
