A sum of 60-thousand EC dollars has been allocated to the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines to purchase essential medicines, in the aftermath of the December 2013 Trough System.

The OECS Secretariat’s Pharmaceutical Procurement Service has activated its disaster fund and will be making the funds available to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Saint Lucia who will receive 75-thousand dollars.

Head of the OECS Pharmaceutical Procurement Service, Francis Burnette says the financial support is to purchase the medicines to treat conditions which are generally more prevalent after a natural disaster.
