Strikes from Kenvorn Cuffy and Cordel Cupid in the 35 and 76 minutes respectively secured a 2-1 victory for Georgetown over struggling Buccament to ensure that Georgetown became the third team from Group “B” and the sixth team overall to a book a place in the quarter-finals of the Senior Men’s Division of the Hairoun-DIGICEL National Community Football League.
Buccament’s lone goal was converted by Lex Oliver in the 58th minute.
West Kingstown gained a narrow 2-1 win over a combative North Leeward courtesy an own goal in the 2nd minute and Jahvin Sutherland’s 24th minute strike.
Nashorn Douglas netted for North Leeward in the 10th minute.
The results mean that Buccament must win their final game against North Leeward to advance to the quarter-finals of the League, while a draw for North Leeward will see them booking the fourth and final place from Group “B”.
The six teams who have secured spots in the quarter-finals thus far are:
Group “A”, National Lotteries Authority Central Kingstown, Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Barrouallie and Layou, while South Leeward, West Kingstown and Georgetown from Group “B”.
