Dr. Ralph Gonsalves Asks Teachers And Public Servants To Call Off Their Plans To Strike

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has issued another appeal to Teachers and Public Servants here not to withdraw their services tomorrow.

The Public Service Union and the Teachers Union, two main trade Unions representing Public Servants say they still intent to stage a one-day strike tomorrow, to press the Government to pay workers one month salary tax free.

Addressing supporters at a Unity Labour Party Rally in Vermont last night, the Prime Minister urged Teachers and Public Servants to rethink their decision about tomorrow’s strike action.

The Prime Minister said he is willing to facilitate the Executive of the Trade Unions for further discussions on the matter.
