A status update was provided here this week of the OECS Juvenile Justice Reform Programme, which is now into its second phase.

Stakeholders from the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, OECS came together at the Beachcombers Hotel, for a meeting of the Regional Advisory Group for the Programme.

Addressing the session, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Mobilization Nerissa Gittens-McMillan highlighted the importance of the Programme, noting that there have been some reservations about it.

This week’s meeting was held at the Beachcombers Hotel, and was hosted by the OECS Commission.

The session focused on the main goal of the second phase of the program, which is geared towards reducing the number of youth in conflict with the law by way of improved rehabilitation and reintegration practices.
