The St. Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) will host a workshop next week for personnel involved in electrical installation across St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
A release from VINLEC says the company has embarked on a programme with the Electrical Inspectorate Division, aimed at developing the skills and knowledge of local Electricians and Wiremen.
To this end, VINLEC, in collaboration with the Electrical Inspectorate Division, will host a workshop for the Electrical Contractors, Licensed Wiremen and Practicing Electricians on Wednesday 15th October, 2014.
The primary objective of the workshop is to address Electrical Engineering Standards in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
There will be presentations from VINLEC, The Electrical Inspectorate Division and the Division of Technical and Vocational Education.
The issues to be addressed include: best practices in the industry, VINLEC standards/expectations, requirements from the Electrical Inspectorate Division, training and Certification in the field, among others. VINLEC anticipates that there will be approximately 60 participants at the workshop.
The official Opening Ceremony will be held from 9:00 am. VINLEC’s CEO, Mr. Thornley Myers will deliver remarks at the session. The workshop will take place at the Frenches House.
