Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has outlined the elements of a comprehensive Disaster Management Strategy, which has been formulated by the National Emergency Management Organization NEMO.
The Prime Minister spoke of the importance of the plan, as he presented the 2015 Budget Address in Parliament last week. He said the strategy will guide this country’s approach to disaster risk reduction for the next ten years.
The Prime Minister explained that the Strategy is aimed at building safer, more resilient communities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, to reduce loss of lives and costs associated with hazard impacts.
