Public Health Department – Food Handlers Certification Programme

With the 2015 Carnival season approaching, the Public Health Department says it will soon commence its Food Handlers Certification programme.

That’s according to Senior Environmental Health Officer, Carlos Wilson, during the Face to Face programme aired on NBC Radio yesterday.

The programme coincided with the global observance of World Health Day, April 7th, under the theme: ‘Food Safety – The Global View’.

Mr. Wilson said the department will continue to ensure that food handlers throughout the state are operating within the required standards.
And, Mr. Wilson is also reminding consumers of the need to ensure that meat products offered for sale are properly inspected.
