A senior Education official has called for decisive action to be taken against delinquent teachers who give the profession a bad name.

The call was made by Senior Education Officer, responsible for secondary schools, Asfo Stephens, as he delivered remarks at the opening of the 18th Biennial Convention of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers Union last week.

Mr. Stephens said most teachers do an exceptional job in educating the nation’s children, there are still some who not committed to the profession.

Mr. Stephenson said action is need to deal with Teachers who are repeatedly late and absent from School with poor excuses.
