Miss Southern Grenadines, Fernella Frederick was crowned Miss Rural SVG 2014 on Sunday evening when the Carnival festivities on the Grenadine island of Canouan kicked into high gear.
The first runner up position went to Miss P’Tani, Solange Fernandez who was followed by second runner up Miss North Leeward, Osheca Edwards.
The activities, which opened on Friday July 25th, are being organized by the group Club Nuevo under the theme “Just the Ultimate Summer event in the Grenadines”.
Vice President and PRO of Club Nuevo, Hansel Henry said this is the 16th year they are hosting the activities and thus far they are progressing smoothly.
He said they held a number of activities over the weekend and these activities received overwhelming support from members of the public.
Mr. Henry said the activities will continue today with the Kiddies Carnival and he also outlined a number of the other activities which will be taking place during this week.
