Organizers of the 250th anniversary activities for the Botanic Gardens will be seeking to have every school child visit the Gardens during the year 2014.
Word of this came from Curator of the Gardens, Gordon Shallow, as he addressed the official launch of the anniversary activities, at a ceremony this week.
The ceremony was also held to mark the launch of a website for the facility: www.botanicalgardens.gov.vc.
Mr. Shallow said this initiative will be pursued by the Anniversary Committee.
Mr. Shallow Also said several other activities are planned for the remainder of the year.
