The Sustainable Grenadines Incorporated (SUSGREN) says the activities held in the Grenadines over the weekend as part of the Annual International Coastal Cleanup exercise, were a huge success.
Program Officer for SUSGREN, Orisha Joseph tells NBC News, they collected close to four hundred pounds of trash on Union Island alone.
Miss Joseph said while they have not yet received the total numbers for the other islands as yet, they have been told by the relevant stakeholders that the exercise was very successful in all islands.
Miss Joseph said last Saturday was the most successful day for the cleanup exercise with several volunteers coming out.
