Sighting Of Military Engineers Is No Cause For Alarm Says Local Police

The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force is appealing to members of the public not to be alarmed if they encounter foreigners around St. Vincent and the Grenadines wearing military attire.

This call was made by Corporal Angela Byron during the Police On the Beat program aired on NBC Radio.

Corporal Byron said a team from the Ecuador comprising Military Engineers in currently in the state working along with the Ministry of Transport and Works to construct new bridges where there was damage during the December Floods.

She said that the Military Engineers have been given permission to wear their Military Uniforms while they assist this country with the rehabilitation work.

Corporal Byron said it is normal for the Military personnel to wear their uniforms when they are on missions of this nature.
