President Maduro Visit To SVG

madThe President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro and a nine member delegation, which included First Combatant Cilia Flores, Vice President and Minster of Finance, Rodolfo Marco Torres and Foreign Affairs Minister Delcy Rodriguez, arrived in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Sunday November 1st.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, Governor General’s Deputy, Susan Dougan, and other Government officials welcomed the delegation at the E. T Joshua Airport.

On Monday, President Maduro and his delegation visited the Hugo Chavez Storage Facility at Lowmans Bay, and visited the Argyle International Airport. While at the Argyle International Airport, the delegation hosted a Media Conference.

Speaking through an interpreter at the Media Conference, the President outlined his country’s plans for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

President Maduro spoke about Trade Investment opportunities between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Venezuela. He said these investments are for the further development of SVG.

The President also made the promised of seven thousand five hundred tablets for primary school students.

Following the Media Conference, a Bilateral Meeting between both countries’ leaders was held at the Office of the Prime Minister.

Dr. Gonsalves said the bilateral discussions covered a number of issues in the hemisphere.

President Maduro and his delegation departed the E.T. Joshua Airport at 4:30 yesterday afternoon.

Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves described the visit as very fruitful one.
