CXC AWARDS TOMORROW

An official Awards and Recognition Ceremony will be hosted by the Caribbean Examinations Council, CXC here tomorrow.

The awards will be presented to the top regional performers in the May/June 2018 examinations of the CXC. The presentations will take place at a ceremony slated for tomorrow night at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.

Awards will be presented for outstanding performances in the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE), Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC), and the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC).

Speaking on NBC’s Face to Face programme, Public Relations Manager at the CXC, Cleveland Sam, said the presence of the Awardees in St. Vincent and the Grenadines will encourage Vincentian students to strive for academic excellence.

This year’s awardees will come from Antigua and Barbuda,Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts and Nevis, and Trinidad and Tobago. Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, will deliver the feature address at tomorrow’s ceremony.   

Remarks will also come from Minister of Education, St. Clair Prince , Sir Hilary Beckles, CXC Chairman; and CXC Registrar Glenroy Cumberbatch.
