Police are investigating a report of attempted Arson and Burglary, which occurred at Redemption Sharpes, between 7:00pm and 7:30pm on Saturday.
According to preliminary investigations, unknown persons allegedly entered the dwelling house of a 60 year old Businesswoman of Green Hill, and committed the offence of Arson, by setting a mattress and a quantity of clothing on fire.
Police say the unknown persons also entered the property of the virtual complainant and stole a quantity of cash. Investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile … Police arrested and charged Brent Samuel, a 36 year old Mason of Ottley Hall, with the offence of attempted Bigamy.
Investigations reveal that Samuel allegedly tried to get married while being married at Buccament Bay, about 10:00am on December 8th.
Samuel was additionally charged with allegedly giving a person employed in the Public Service, information that he is a bachelor, intending thereby to cause the employee to grant a marriage licence, which she ought not to have done if the facts in relation to such information were known to her.
The incident occurred on November 22nd.
