The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Red Cross Society is preparing to embark on another Community Disaster Risk Reduction Project, which will focus on Volcanic Risk in the Lesser Antilles.

Director General of the local Red Cross Society Bernard Marksman says the project is funded by ECHO, the European Commission Office of Humanitarian AID and Civil Protection and is being implemented by the French Red Cross.

Mr. Marksman says emphasis will be placed on two communities, Troumaca and Sandy Bay with the main objective being to reduce the impact of Volcanic Risks on residents in these two areas.
