Chief Education Officer, Lou-Ann Gilchrist is appealing to teachers and Principals to approach the Business of Education with compassion, during the current times.

She made this statement appeal during a press briefing which was held to update the nation on the status of the relief and recovery process.

Miss Gilchrist said while the Ministry of Education is providing special assistance to children who were impacted by the December 2013 trough system, teachers and principals need to ensure that they monitors these students thoroughly.

She said teaching and learning must continue and she is appealing to teachers and principals to ensure that the proper conditions are in place to assist the children in their learning.
