Tragedy struck on the leeward side of the Island on the weekend, with four road fatalities reported from two separate accidents

Tragedy struck on the leeward side of the Island on the weekend, with four road fatalities reported from two separate accidents.
Police say three persons died following a motor vehicle accident which occurred in the Maroon Hill area yesterday.

According to the Police, a truck with registration number Te214 driven by Nigel Peters, a 33-year-old Chauffeur of Richland Park ran off the Maroon Hill public road and went over an embankment at about 1:15 pm yesterday.




The Police say, passenger Leopold Castello, a 51-year-old Farmer of Hopewell was pronounced dead at the scene

And, Peter Phillips, a 33-year-old Auto Mechanic of Enhams and Alwyn Toby, a 53-year-old Mason of Mesopotamia were pronounced dead at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
On Saturday morning, one woman died and two persons were hospitalized, following a vehicle accident in Coulls Hill.

Reports are that Martina James of Villa died, when the vehicle in which she was travelling went over an embankment in the Coulls Hill area.
The driver and another passenger were hospitalized and are said to be suffering severe injuries. Police say this brings the total number of road fatalities for the year to five.
