There were victories for defending champions Sandy Bay Secondary School and Georgetown Secondary School in the final preliminary round of matches in the United Insurance Secondary School’s 40-over-a-side Cricket Championship on Monday.

At the Sion Hill Playing Field, Sandy Bay Secondary School defeated Petit Bordel Secondary School by 3 wickets. SCORES: Petit Bordel Secondary School 139 off 34.4-overs; Husani Porter 23, Jadiel Chance 18, A-ZADON Stapleton 15, Reynold Providence 14 not out; Nickson York 2 for 22, Sealroy Williams 2 for 31.

Sandy Bay Secondary School 141 for 7 off 32.4-overs; Dilworth Thomas 25, Denson Hoyte 25, Iran Pompey 25 not out, Sealroy Williams 17, Kurtney Pompey 14; Ceklon Mc Kie 3 for 30 and there were two wickets each for Kenville Harry and Shaman Hooper.

And, Georgetown Secondary School beat West St. George Secondary School by 97 runs at the Park Hill Playing Field.

The scores: Georgetown Secondary School 157 off 32.2-overs; Gidron Pope 40, Delorn Douglas 25, Urnel Thomas 20; Adonis Nanton 4 for 32
Zianni Da Silva 3 for 15, Alkezso Davis 3 for 30, West St. George Secondary School 60 off 21-overs; Denroy Hazel 14, Alkezso Davis 14; Kenso Dalzell 4 for 6, Rasheed Fredericks 3 for 13, Gidron Pope 2 for 7

The semi-finals pits Sandy Bay Secondary School against Bethel High School at the Park Hill Playing Field and at the Sion Hill Playing Field Georgetown Secondary School will tackle St. Vincent Grammar School.
