There have been a rise in sexual abuse among young boys between the ages of 5 and 9 in many Caribbean counties.
That’s according to Minister with responsibility for youth Frederick Stephenson as he delivered a message to mark the start of child abuse and awareness month.
The minister said sexual abuse against boys often go unrecognized.
Minister Stephenson said the break the silence initiative aims to protect children from abuse and to encourage them to speak out.
He said it is time to unite to end the abuse of children to ensure a safer SVG.
