A number of local artistes will be recognized for their achievements this Friday when the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Music Professionals AMP, hosts its First Annual Awards.
Speaking at a Media Briefing this morning, President of the Association Orande Bomani Charles said the event is being held to recognize the outstanding performance of Vincentian artistes in the year 2013.
He said special effort is being made to award persons in each genre such as ragga soca, gospel, and hip hop among others.
And Shows Coordinator and Producer Jemron Delplesche said the organization is hoping to put on an event similar to the Grammy’s and Oscars.
He highlighted some of the special features that will be included at Friday’s event.
The Awards Ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Peace Memorial Hall, from 8pm on Friday.
