The Ministry of Transport and Works has opened tenders for the reconstruction of the Caratal Bridge which was damaged during the flooding of December 2013.
Chief Engineer Brent Bailey tells NBC News that the tender was launched during this week.
Mr. Bailey says the new designs for the bridge have been completed, and work on this project should commence by of this year.
Mr. Bailey said an extensive rehabilitation exercise will be carried out on the Bridge.
