An appeal has been made here for men to play a larger role in supporting women who are single parents.
The call came from Youth Programme Coordinator of the local Planned Parenthood Association, Nelly Phillips, during NBC’s Views On Issues programme on Sunday.
Ms. Phillips said in many cases a single mother can only provide for the basic needs for her child, such as food, shelter and clothing.
She said more support is needed in these households from the Fathers.
