A call has been made here for a clear policy framework to be developed in relation to land capability in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The call came from Regional Supervisor in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Leroy Jackson, during NBC’s Vies On issues Progrmmme on Sunday.
The programme focused on issues connected to the World Day to “Combat Desertification” which is being observed today.
The day has been set aside to increase the attention given to land and soil within climate change adaptation and to mobilize support for sustainable land management.
Mr. Jackson pointed out that land use needs to be more close regulated here.
World Day to Combat Desertification is being observed under the theme “Eco-system-based Adaptation” with the slogan: Land Belongs to the Future – Let’s Climate Proof It.
