Youlou Pan Movement Urges Players To Cherish The Instruments

The Youlou Pan Movement has issued a call for ALL Pan Players throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines to cherish these musical instruments.

This call was made by Public Relations Officer of the Youlou Pan Movement, Marla Nanton, who said that more attention and priority needs to be given to the Steel Pan which is the only instrument which was invented in the Caribbean region.

Miss Nanton said many other countries around the world are falling in love with the Steel Pan and there is a need for a greater appreciation of this instrument in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Miss Nanton said there is also a need for the country to produce more musicians who can play music not just by ear but by reading music score sheets.
