The SVG Calypsonians Association says it will be working along with the Independence Committee to hold a School’s Independence competition, later this year.
President of the SVG Calypsonians Association, Ann Miller said the
Association had originally planned to hold a Queen of Calypso competition this year but due to a lack of resources following the disaster of December 2013, they had to change these plans.
She said they are now preparing to hold the School’s Independence Calypso competition to replace this program.
Miss Miller said the Association will be working closely with renowned Musician and Band Leader for the Vykinz Band, Junior Sutherland to make this competition a reality.
She said they are hoping to hold this program as part of the Annual School’s Independence Rally, which takes at Victoria Park.
