Afi Cyrus defeated Yannick Grant 6-3, 6-LOVE and Imani King edged out Luke Browne 6-1, 6-3 in yesterday’s Under-18 Boys round robin matches of the Vita Malt National Tennis Tournament at the National Tennis Centre at Villa.
Also in the Boys Under-18 Division, Sebastian Cyrus eased past Josh Mounsey 6-3, 3-6, 7-LOVE and Taj Ballantyne had the better of Sebastian Cyrus 6-3, 6-4.
In the Boys Under-16 Division, Alex Cyrus beat Antonio Cain 6-1, 6-4, while Taj Ballantyne whipped Carmold Murray 6-LOVE, 6-LOVE.
Other results, Alexei Humphrey outclassed Romara Williams 6-LOVE, 6-LOVE, Gabrielle Benn powered past Ronee’ Gurley 6-LOVE, 6-LOVE, Amarlia Benn defeated Shania Mc Kenzie 6-LOVE, 6-LOVE and Myka Williams beat Kenesia Lampkin 6-2, 6-1 in the Girls 16 and under round robin Division.
In the Boys 12 and under Division, Rio Connell had the better of Riley Dalany 4-LOVE, 4-LOVE.
And, Che’ Connell defeated Afi Lucas 4-LOVE, 5-4, 7-5 and Che’ Connell upset Number (1) player Riley Delany 4-1, LOVE-4, 7-4 in the Boys 10 and under Division.
The Tournament continues today with the start of the Main Draw in the Boys and Girls Divisions.
