Victories for Rockets, Dragons, Wizards, Rising Stars (2), Duke and East Blazers last weekend in the Vita Malt Bequia Basketball Championship at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Port Elizabeth.

In the Under-16 Division, Rockets secured a narrow 37-35 victory over Titans. The leading scorer for Rockets was Erick Compton and Omario Louie with 17 points each, while Kelroy Durham was Titans leading scorer with 19 points, 13 rebounds and 8 steals.

And, Dragons defeated Young Wizards 35-18. The top scorer for Dragons was Kirsty Bailey with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists and leading the way for Young Wizards was Osley Ollivierre with 13 points.

In the Second Division, Jermaine John with a game high 30 points and 2 rebounds as Wizards eased past Blazing Heat 66-61. The top scorer for Blazing Heat was Mark Browne with 21 points, 5 assists.

Rising Stars (2) edged out Young Duke 55-45. Gavin Michael with 15 points, 4 rebounds was Rising Stars’ (2) leading scorer. The top scorer for Young Duke was Jadeja Ollivierre with 14 points.

And in the First Division, Duke defeat Paget Farm rising Stars 87-69. Steveon Taylor with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists led the way for Duke and the leading scorer for Rising Stars was Kirstin Lampkin with 26 points.

And in the First Division, East Blazers cruised past Warriaz 57-49. The top scorer for East Blazers was Cosmus Hackshaw with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists, while the leading scorer Warriaz was Garret Edwards with 13 points.

The Championship continues tomorrow when Hawks plays Young Wizards in the Under-16 Division from 6 pm, later at 7 pm, Rising Stars (2) will oppose Wizards in the Second Division and Rising Stars (1) will face Wizards in the First Division.
