Hawks overpowered Young Wizards beating them 40-14 in Wednesday’s Under-16 Division match of the Vita Malt Bequia Basketball Championship at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Port Elizabeth.

The leading scorer Hawks was Jonelson Compton with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists and the top scorer for Young Wizards was Dario Barber with 6 points.

In the Second Division, Rising Stars (2) defeated Wizards (2) 52-27. Leading the way for Rising Stars (2) was Camol Bess with a game high 19 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists.

Lenroy Lavia was Wizards leading scorer with 12 points.

And in the First Division, Kirstin Lampkin hit 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists as Rising Stars (1) beat Wizards (1) 72-65. The top scorer for Wizards (1) was Xavaughn Dennie with 29 points.

This evening, Titans will meet Hawks, then from 7 O’clock Hornets will oppose Rockets, followed by a game between Duke and Wizards at half past eight.
