Persons who have contracted chikungunya here and have recovered have been assured that they cannot come down with the disease again.
This assurance has come from Chairman of the National Surveillance Committee in the Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment, Dr. Rosmond Adams.
Speaking on NBC’s Face to Face programme last week, Dr. Adams said research indicates that those persons who contract the disease are protected from future infection.
