Bottle and Glass Blazers and South Leeward Combined won matches at Sunday’s opening of the 2014 Western Union Senior Division Barrouallie Netball Championship at the Keartons Hard Court.
In the Vita Malt Under-16 Division, Bottle and Glass Blazers defeated Que Hearts 21-9 and South Leeward Combined overwhelmed Canoaun Islanders 53-20 in the Western Union Senior Division.
Star Girls won the march-pass.
The Opening Ceremony heard addresses from the sponsors, the Director of Sports Nelson Hillocks and Area Representative Maxwell Charles, all of whom gave the blessing and pledged their continued support to the development of Sports in Barrouallie.
Six teams will take part in the Vita Malt Under-16 Division and eight will compete in the Western Union Senior Division.
The Championship will continue today at the Keartons Hard Court.
