Blazing Heat and Duke were crowned 2nd and 1st Division champions respectively last weekend as the 2014 Vita Malt Bequia Basketball Championship climaxed at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Port Elizabeth.

In the 2nd Division Game (2) Finals, Blazing Heat defeated Rising Stars (2) 49-40 to tie the Final Best of 3 series 1-1 and force a game (3).

The leading scorer for Blazing Heat was Dean Browne with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists, while Stelson Marshall was the leading scorer for Rising Stars (2) with 18 points.

And in the 2nd Division Game (3), Blazing Heat clinched Title with a 56-51 victory over Rising Stars (2). Mark Browne led the way for Blazing Heat with 19 points, 4 assists and 5 steals. The leading scorer for Rising Stars (2) was Stelson Marshall with 17 points.

And in the 1st Division Game (2) Finals, Duke defeated Warriaz 85-72 to win the First Division Title. National Player I-Shama McCree was Duke’s leading scorer with a game high 26 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Warriaz top scorer was Warrican Myers with 22 points.
