The Catholic Church here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines celebrating twenty-five years as a Diocese this year.
As part of the celebrations, the Diocese of Kingstown will be hosting its first Synod from January 22-25.
The main aim of the Synod would be to develop, inculcate and ensure a spirituality of Word, Eucharist and Service leading every Catholic on a path to authentic human development so as to revitalize the church and transform society.
The Synod commences with Holy Mass at the Cathedral on Thursday 22nd January, 2015.
The Working Sessions of the Synod will be held at the SVG Community College, Glen on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th. The Synod will close with Holy Mass on Sunday 25th January, 2015.
The Church will host a Media Conference at the Pastoral Centre at Edinboro on Monday 19th January, to discuss plans for the celebrations.
The Media Conference begins at 10am.
