The Ministry of Health is appealing to Vincentians to continue implementing safety measures to ensure that there is a continued decline in the number of reported cases of the Chikungunya, Mosquito-borne illness.

This appeal was made by Epidemiologist, Dr. Rosmond Adams following a statement from the Ministry of Health that they are continuing to see a decrease in the number of reported cases of the Chikungunya, Mosquito-borne illness.

Dr. Adams tells NBC News that the decrease is largely due to strategic fogging and other preventative measures which were implemented by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with members of the Public.

He is therefore appealing to members of the public to continue playing their part in controlling the outbreak of the Chikungunya virus and Dengue Fever, which are spread by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.

Dr. Adams said many communities are to also be commended for the great work the have been doing in the fight against the Chikungunya virus and Dengue Fever.
