US President Barack Obama, yesterday held a town hall meeting in Jamaica, with youth leaders from across the region. He answered questions on various topics including china’s growing economy and how he handles stress.

When asked about the lengthy time and process an immigrant has to endure when trying to legally settle in America, Mr Obama said that the us is a state of immigrants and many from the Caribbean have helped shape its success over the last two decades he said that one of his goals was to ensure it remained that way.

Mr Obama added that one reason people decide to take the illegal route, is because the legal method is difficult, and while his administration is trying to streamline the process, it will never be instant.
