St. Vincent and the Grenadines is among 189 countries around the world observing International Red Cross Day today.
Disaster Manager at the local Red Cross Society, Julia Simmons says the day is set aside each year to remember how the Red Cross Movement started.
Miss Simmons says the local Red Cross Society is commemorating the day with an Exhibition under the Singer Gallery today, but activities will also be held throughout the month.
