Chairperson of the Mas Bands Association, Hugh Raguette said that the local DJ’s need to understand that we have to sell our soca product internationally.
Speaking on NBC radio’s “Views on Issues” programme, Raguette said that this year’s Roadmarch was not on the play list for junior carnival, as it wasn’t deemed suitable for the juniors. He added that he had hoped for a different result in this year’s competition.
In response to a question posed by a caller about mentorship for the younger generation of soca artistes, President of the Calypsonians Association, Ann Miller said that young people have to make themselves available for the opportunities that are out there for them.
