St. Vincent and the Grenadines and other member states of the Regional Security System, RSS, have been given the assurance that the United States will continue to support the Caribbean in strengthening Security and battling transnational crime.

The assurance came from Program Specialist at the U.S Embassy in Barbados, Robert McDonald, during his remarks at a Graduation Ceremony held on Friday.

The ceremony marked the close of a Regional Security System Basic Course, which involved participants from six regional territories under the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI).

Mr. McDonald said regional security must never be taken for granted

Mr. McDonald also pledged the continued commitment of the United States to work along with the Regional Security System, to ensure that the rule of law is upheld throughout the region.

Friday’s ceremony featured the passing out of thirty-one police officers, who completed the two-phase program, which was held over three months in Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
