Rising Stars defeated Blazing Heat 61-55 in Game (1) in the Best of three Series Final in the second Division of the Vita Malt Bequia Basketball Championship on Wednesday at the Clive Tannis Hard Court in Port Elizabeth.
The leading scorer for Rising Stars was Camol Bess with 18 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists. The top scorer for Blazing Heat was Dean Browne with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
East Blazers won from Duke 57-54 in Game (1) in the Final Series Best of three Series Final in the first Division.
Leading the way for East Blazers were Elton Joseph and Kelan Edwards with 14 points each. The top scorer for Duke was Ishama McCree with 22 Points.
Tomorrow from 7:30 pm in the second Division Finals, Game (2), Blazing Heats will meet Rising Stars and at 9:30 pm, the Shootout and Dunk Out Competition will take place.
At 10:00 pm, the First Division Finals, Game (2) will see Duke meeting East Blazers
The Championship will conclude either tomorrow or Sunday depending on Results of Game 2. The Trophy and Medal Presentation will take place following the games.
