Local Psychiatrist Consultant, Dr. Amrie Morris-Patterson says she would like to see an end to the stigma associated with depression, and other psychological issues.
Dr. Morris Patterson was addressing the issue of Anxiety Disorders during NBC’s “Views on Issues” programme on Sunday.
She said that the E-Therapy Courses which will be offered online can help anyone to recognize, identify and cope with symptoms of depression and low mood.
Patterson added that the online therapy courses are about seeking validation from yourself rather than outside sources. She said it can help the participants make the decision to take charge of how they live their lives.
The Ministry of Health with support from the Trinity School of Medicine, will soon introduce the new online distance courses, as part of its Psychological Wellness Initiative.
