Relations between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Ecuador were further strengthened on November 9th, with the start of a seven-month Teach English program.
Forty-four Ecuadorian Teachers are involved in the programme, which officially got underway this morning at the Villa Campus of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.
Delivering remarks at the official opening, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said the Programme is just one of the many areas of co-operation between St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Ecuador.
The Teach English programme is designed to improve the competence of the Ecuadorian English Teachers.
The first three months will focus on English as a second Language; while the next three months will focus on the Teaching of English as a Second Language.
The final month will be a practicum attachment in Vincentian schools. Other Ecuadorian teachers are simultaneously attending classes at the Dominica State College and UWI, Cave Hill Campus.
