The Ceremonial Opening Of The First Session Of The Tenth Parliament Is Set For Next Tuesday

The ceremonial opening of the First Session of the Tenth Parliament is set to take place on Tuesday December 29th at 4:00pm at the Assembly Chamber in Kingstown.

According to information from the House of Assembly, the ceremony is expected to feature the swearing-in of Members of Parliament, as well as the election of a Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

Members of Parliament will then take the Oath of Allegiance.

The ceremonial opening of Parliament follows the swearing-in of an eleven member Cabinet last week.

The Cabinet was sworn in during an event at Heritage Square, following victory by the Unity Labour Party, in the December 9th General Elections.
