The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Fair Trade organization has been called upon to implement systems so as to encourage more young people to become interested in farming.
The call came from Coordinator of the Windward Islands Farmers Association, WINFA Kozel Peters-Fraser at the opening of the Organization’s 15th Annual Assembly at the Memorial Hall.
Mrs. Peters-Fraser said youths need to see farming as attractive, and Agriculture as a career.
Meanwhile … Chairperson of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Fair Trade Organization, Denniston Samuel noted that the teaching of Agriculture in schools here is not as vibrant as it should be.
He pointed out that there are various areas in Agriculture where persons can acquire specialist training.
