Lionfish Derby Tomorrow
A Lionfish Derby will be held at the Calliaqua Fisheries Complex tomorrow, as part of Fisherman Day activities.
The Lion Fish is said to be wreaking havoc on the fish stock in the country’s waters.
Senior Fisheries Officer Kris Isaacs said one of the main objectives of the Lionfish derby is to help control the lionfish population by holding competitions to capture the fish.
Mr. Isaacs said the culmination of this year’s Fishermen’s Day activities will take place on Monday at the Calliaqua Playing Field and Fisheries complex.
