The Special Olympians received a cheque amounting to EC$2500 from the National Sports Council yesterday at a brief handing over ceremony.
This monetary donation was raised from proceedings at the Solidarity Football Match last Sunday at the Calliqua playing field. This event was organized by the NSC along with their college interns Shemika Charles and Gary Jr Miller, who gained experience from planning and carrying out of this event.
Present at the handing over ceremony was Sevevra Joseph, director of Special Olympics team, Julian Burgin, Deputy Chairman of NSC, Jomadean May, manager of NSC, Anette Joseph, NSC accountant along Kamile Huggins, Lecturer at the technical college with college interns from the St. Vincent Community College in attendance as well.
