A March and Rally in Argyle will form part of this year’s Emancipation Day Celebrations.
The Emancipation Festival Committee plans to host the event on August 1st under the theme “Celebrate Deliverance, Repair the Damage”.
Chairman of the Emancipation Festival Committee, Oscar Allen says at the Rally there will be Educational Addresses and Performances related to the theme.
Mr. Allen says the event will also symbolize different aspects of enslaved peoples’ experience.
Head Teacher of the St. Vincent Grammar School Curtis King and Educator Dr. Deborah Providence are expected to deliver addresses at the Rally.
