CARICOM Youth Ambassadors SVG Committee hosts discussion on the Decriminalization of Marijuana

The decriminalization of marijuana, its effects, use and implications were raised during an open forum discussion last night at Frenches House.

Spearheaded by the CARICOM Youth Ambassadors SVG Committee, the session highlighted some of the major growing concerns of marijuana.

Psychologist, Dr. Amrie Morris-Patterson in looking at some of the threats posed by marijuana indicated that use of cannabis negatively affects the progress of all psychiatric conditions, particularly when used heavily.

Presentations were also made by Sergeant Brenton Smith of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, Representative of the Rastafarian Community, Junior “Spirit” Cottle; Lawyer Joseph Delves and Mr. Glenroy Browne representing the Christian Community.
