Vincentians to be honoured in the USA at SVG Diaspora Committee Gala

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Diaspora Committee of New York will honour 14 outstanding Vincentians later this month when it hosts its Heritage Awards and Gala in the United States.

The Awardees are Vaughan Toney, Verna Arthur, Errol “D Man Age” Rose, Lennox “Skully” Hunte, Cyril “Scorcher” Thomas, Gloria Ballantyne, Rudolph Boucher, Hermina Cambridge, Garnet Niles, Justin Stapleton, Gideon “Fessie” Yorke, Mary Neverson (posthumously), Robert McBarnett, and Donald Llewellyn.

Five of them will l also be inducted into a Sports Hall of Fame, a flagship program of SVG-USA Sports Association. They are Gloria Ballantyne, Rudolph Boucher, Donald Llewellyn, Hermina Cambridge, and Garnet Niles. CEO of the Friends of Crown Heights Educational Center, Vaughan Toney, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The event will be held on Saturday 17th September at the Friend of Crown Heights Educational Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Chairman of the Committee, Maxwell Hewitt said the event seeks to encourage Vincentians to continue to make positive contributions to the continued development of their home country.
