The 2017 Digicel SVG Gospel Festival will continue with a number of activities this weekend.
This evening the leading drummers in the country will gather at the Hope For Life Restoration Ministries in Arnos Vale from 8.00 pm for ‘Drum Praise’.
Paul St. John, Co-ordinator of this event, told NBC News that Drum Praise is a new program introduced by the Gospel Fest Committee this year where the focus will be on drummers.
The drummers will play solo pieces and a test piece with adjudication done by Petra Welch a professional drummer from Barbados.
Prizes will be presented for outstanding performances.
This will be followed by a series of workshops which Ms. Welch will be conducted tomorrow.
On Saturday evening the North Leeward Zone will hold their Gospel Showcase at the Spring Village Worldwide Mission Church, with others being held on Sunday evening.
Presentations will be done in song, dance and drama with outstanding performers going on to the National Gospel Showcase.
